Having problems with my SHO again, i've replaced the following in the past year(A/C Compressor, Serpentine/Timing Tensioners and Pulleys), if the problem is not going to cost a bundle i'll fix it again. Car has 105,000 miles on it and is in excellent condition on the outside, reason i'm willing to fix it.

White smoke pours out exhaust, temperature gauge goes to H and smoke comes out of the hood. I smelled oil or antifreeze when idle or when i put the heat on weeks before the major problem. The car is in the driveway and i've yet to get it checked out by a mechanic. Any solutions or advise to what i'm looking at from Small to Major Problems, thanks forum.

Is it worth fixing and how much am i looking at if it's indeed the head gasket, i noticed some oil on back side of the engine near the spark plugs. I'm sure its the gasket as well. thanks group.

Could be Major

Wite smoke=headgasket. to continue to drive it could cause a hyrolock. (cylinders fill with water instead of air/gas. resilt= engine death!

Depending on your skill, confidence, time you may be looking at being without the ride for a while. If it is headgasket there aren't quick fixes. Also if 60K hasn't been done now is time

do not bother fixing this engine if you have driven or had the car running for more than say an hour... the rod bearings will be shot... white smoke indicates that coolant is being burnt internally.

if you feel you are lucky, and have not had the car running at all, and you feel that you noticed this problem right away, then pull the heads, take them to a shop to check if they are 'level' /flat/not warped, replace with new gaskets, and do valve cover gaskets and other top and front 60 k stuff while you are there... but make sure that you really think about how long the engine ran with the coolant flushing around in the oil... it may not be worth putting work into.
