It's not black. It's gunmetal or graphite...but yes. It's wheel paint on the snakes, TB, Butterflies, etc..

My intake is almost 92rev2sev's inverted. Mine is gunmetal wheel paint on the plenums and high engine temp paint "aluminum" on the snakes.

No paint will really hold up better than another, IMO. In time, it'll fade no matter what type of paint you use. I agree with Jason though, that engine enamel chips pretty easily, and you're better off with the paint you bought, or wheel paint. It all depends on what colors you want. Wheel paint is a very limited selection.

It's all in the prep. Clean it well, if you can have it beadblasted for best results.

I've found that using a compatible clearcoat over the color helps to make it last a little longer. If you use the truck paint, use the truck paint clear. If you use the wheel paint, use the wheel paint clear. Follow the instructions for each very carefully. I've messed up using wheel paint before by not putting the clear on in the amount of time they recommended.

Any quality wax and degreaser is fine, acetone, denatured alcohol, enamel reducer or lacquer thinner works too.Just be sure to use enamel clear over enamel paint and lacquer over lacquer so that you will not have any lift or burn problems.Start with at least 2 mist or light coats before spaying a wet coat and don,t hold the can to close to the parts when spraying.Actually the best advice is to read the side of the can for best results.Good luck

Just my opinion, but the car will look better without filling in the SHO lettering on the sides and rear.

This is the best way to do it. I'm with Jason, I too prefer non-painted letters, but to his is own each person has different taste. :thumb: Though I will say white 1st Gens with black lettering looks good.

I think silver would look good, unless you had white slicers (which look great on that blue) in which case I'd go with white. Something else to consider... What color scheme are you planning to do under the hood when you paint the engine? Synonymously colored engine paint and body lettering would look good at the car shows :thumb:

Black is something I hadn't considered, I bet that would look good on that color blue also. It's worth a try, if you don't like black then you can always paint another color over it :thumb:
