i just wanted another opinion but i have my intake off and i plan on painting the tanks black and the runners blue with high temp engine enamel. but i cant find real pinstriping paint to paint inside the sho,ford and dohc. so i picked up some touch up paint. if i lay 2 coats of engine enamel down, then touch up paint in the engravings, and then cleared over the whole thing with high temp engine enamel do you think the touch up paint will be fine? u think the paint willhold up?

Yea it'll work... what I did was get Testors Enamel for the Ford logo... enamel was enamel was my theory... it held up well. 
That "Ford" is actually Silver, while the rest of the intake is "aluminum"
Edit: X2 on what Bob said... without toothpicks it isn't possible... well maybe some of those $10 brushes..

Yep, touch up will be fine. To make things easier, try using a toothpick or matchstick to fill the lettering in. It's much less messy and more accurate than the brush that comes with the touch up paint.
Don't bother with the high temp stuff.... Just some good 'ole Duplicolor Truck, Van and SUV paint will hold up better (speaking from experience).
I like to sand, paint, sand, paint and then a final spray with the last few passes as a 'wet' pass. After I let it dry, I bake it in the oven for 20 minutes. When it cools, I light polish (maybe some wax) will bring out the 'bling'.
For the lettering, I originally masked the general area, did a quick spray and quickly remove the masking and wiped the intake with a rag soaked in turpentine or the like. Another quick polish where you wiped (may not be necessary) and it should clean up any damage and you're done.

I prefer wheel paint over high temp engine or regular paint, though I will say my current paint job is wheel paint on the plenums and high temp engine paint on the snakes (I already had it laying around).

Well.. honestly... the biggest problem with it is the aluminum.....
Will it crack... thats kind of a toss up to me... I haven't had 1 single issue with the "aluminum" that I used... but that shiny black there on the inner runners gets dull in a year, and will start that cracking within 2. That motor gets up to 190 right? (Think thermostat) And in the winter its down to 0. THat aluminum changes sizes ya know. I am not really sure why it didn't happen on the "surge tanks" maybe because they aren't so small. Or maybe there is something different about that gloss enamel... I really dont know... but mine started to "fog" within a year, and in places like the IAC, or the bottom side of the inner runners have started some small cracks... so I'm kinda dissapointed.... But I'll go snap some good pics in a few here so you can see what I'm talking about...
But for me ... I think I'll "fix / port / polish" another set, and change my color scheme that way.... I'm thinking I want my shiny under the hood now..
And Tom... you didn't hear any of this...

Did you use wheel paint for the black(?) too? I am thinking of just painting my intake since I have a few cans of silver wheel paint(duplicolor with blue label). I don't remember seeing any other colors on the shelf when I bought it though.
