I'm wondering if my SHO has a bad motor mount or not.

I have a Mid-West SHO intake on the car and I noticed that the bracket by the Intake made a hole in it. It seemed to have hit the Al. piping and sliced it open. For some reason I never thought that it was the fact that the Engine was moving a causing this to happen. I patched the hole with J.B Weld and it's fine, BUT I'm now wondering if my Motor Mounts are bad. I checked to see if the front one was bad by turning on the car, putting it in 1st and seeing if the passenger side moves more than the drivers side. It didnt seem like it moved enough to cause concern. There also isnt any polished marks on the passeneger side of the Intake Manifold where it might be hitting the hood. I think it may be because of the size of the Mid-West Intake that brings it closer to the bracket.

Any thoughts? Sorry for the long post.

Open the hood, move the throttle by hand, if the engine moves a lot you can figger' that one or more is bad.

Also, look at the hood liner. If it has serious rub marks, start saving some $$, too....

You could also set the parking brake, and let out the clutch a little in first and reverse (while looking between the small opening of the open hood that you can see through the windshield). That way you can pinpoint more accuaratly which mount is bad... Though ussually I've noticed that if one goes the other will follow.

I did put on the parking brake and check to see if the Engine was moving. It didnt seem like it was that bad.

I dont think there are any marks on the hood, I'll double check though.
