Engine Idle Problem

My SHO just recently started flashing the check engine light twice and then reving up to 2500rpm and then coming back down then the check engine light goes off. Also early today the O/D light came on while I was one the highway and wouldn't turn off. I checked oil and it was low. Is this common with the SHO to flash the O/D light as a warning about oil levels?

Nope, they are in no way connected. If your engine is low enough on oil (around two quarts plus low), the yellow OIL LEVEL light will come on.

As far as the revving, a KOEO and KOER test should give some clues. My guess would be a vacuum leak, the TPS, or the ISC/BPA valve as likely suspects at this point.

As far as the O/D light, it's possible that the wiring to the switch on the gearshift **** may be failing due to chafing.
