Hope I posted this properly I do not post very often. 1990 SHO MTX replaced engine now does not start. I have fuel pump run for a few seconds and 40 PSI on rail. I have spark and if I prime with gas it runs for a few seconds till prime gone. Need help. I guess the next thing is to see if I have 12V to the red wire on all injectors and power from the relay box to the ECU with the key on. If I do have 12V to the injectors can I probe a wire from the neg. side of battery to each wire on the other side of the injectors and see it I can hear them pulse? If they do then maybe the ECU went out and not grounding each one. The old engine was OK but starting to burn valves. I had one from my son's 1990 that he totaled. It has been sitting for a few years though. One other thing is a few years ago on this same car I had to replace the ECU because it wasn't grounding the injectors but at that time it would start and run for a few seconds then die. This time just cranking. Thanks for any suggestions. Larry

if the engine has been sitting for a few years, the injectors are likely gummed up so no fuel is going through them.

after cranking for a while, pull one of the front plugs - check if dry or wet. it should be wet from fuel not being burned. if dry, you know that either the injectors are not firing or they are stuck and no fuel is going through. I would bet on the latter.

You can buy a nod light to check if the injectors are firing. Also check the ground wire in the valley of the block near the knock sensor. This is the ground for the injectors.

Thanks I found the problem it was the red wire pin bent in the back connector where it is a "bitch" to get to with it all together. Just got it fired for a few seconds and runs like crap, so it is going now will need to see why it is running so bad, more than likely injectors not working good, rings need oil, etc. Did not drive still on stands. Will continue tomorrow. Actually sounded better with just the prime! Thanks All
