They still use breakin oil?

Its what i call it:nut: its a new motor, and IMO the engine should wear in a bit with it and be changed way before the 7500 mile mark.. Its one of those things that im funny about, its a new motor is its going to wear itself in right away, seat rings ect ect...

so imo the oil should be ran for a while, I planned on it about 4k, but never had the time, so at 5009 I changed it. Ill run this one a little shorter, as well as the next so I know that the motor has seated itself good then Ill switch to a full synthetic like amsoil.

Yikes. I see things differently with new engines and their first few oil changes.

I was a little worried about going that long but I figure that if it were really that critical Ford would have specified an earlier change interval. I've had very good luck with my past cars just following what the manufacturer recommends. So we'll see how it works out for this one. :)

Does anyone else hear a light clatter noise from the engine when driving around, mainly when accelerating lightly?

I'm thinking this may be a normal sound for a high pressure direct injection motor (thinking along the lines of diesel engines to a point) but wanted to verify with other owners.

Thanks
Just a thought, but I wonder if it's the wastegate(s) bouncing back and forth. I can sometimes hear my wastegate flapper slapping around when under part throttle acceleration in my Subaru.

Ditto on SRT-4 got same noise. You had to listen for it but it was there and that's what it was. When I put the Stage 2 kit on it and got an aftermarket wastegate I Didn't hear the noise anymore. Probably because the PSI was set about 6lbs higher on the wastegate.

My dealership wanted to change the oil at 5000, the book said 7500. I made it over to my mechanic at 6000. I had the startup clatter a couple times recently, I'll see if it went away with this oil change.
