Idles good, accellerates good till the secondaries kick in then it bogs down some and hesitates and gradually accelerates but not like it should. when cold it idles fine but bogs way down on acceleration and has no power and will not accelerate if you step on the gas. it ran fine a while ago. this has been an on going problem. goes away and comes back. sometimes also when i go into the store and come back out it will run rough and hiting the gas it will the idlle goes up and down for a few seconds like a missfire then goes normal.

Please indicate maintenance history. If you have not performed any, start with plugs and wires.

Misfires and bogging are usually maintenance related...

plugs, wires, dirty sensors, fuel filter, poor grounds, etc..

Could be a number of things; how many miles and what has been done; e.g., has full 60k been done anytime recently ? might be fuel pump dying, clogged fuel filter, dirty MAF, oil / water in plug wells etc..

Make sure your grounds are good, check your fuel pressure, make sure your secondaries are opening, and check for vacuum leaks...the easy, free things.

When has the fuel pump been replaced last?

Fuel press. is 30-38. ran a lot of injector cleaner resently. have filter but have not repllaced yet. owned the car for a year now. past hist. not known. heads look and cams look great and very clean. timing belt not checked yet but soon. tuned it up recently.

TYSHO: Thanks for the info. I have already done all of those recently. need to replace the cables though. re-routed the ground recently around the back of the engine to the drivers shock tower. Also checked the secondaryies and engages when the trhottle is moved. No oil or water in the spark plug tubes, sealed heads recently.

unplug the MAF sensor and drive around a bit.

Thanks all. I diss. the maf and it ran fine so i am going to replace it.

First, try cleaning it. If you insist on replacing it before trying to clean it...please PM me..

I had the mesh screen out of the maf and put it back in and it runs real good now
