Man I would extremely appreciate it. I just got back from vegas having to drive my 87 stang... Man... What a long... Loud... HOT... and scary drive that was.

I have no doubt that the issue isnt seal related but rather something I cant get to or see with all the gear on... like a core plug for a oil passage.

Im tearing it down rightnow... will take me bout 2days to completely have a open front side of the motor. All accessories and brackets removed.

Wish me luck. And Again I would really appreciate those photos. If you need hosting space I can host them. You can email them if you need... doesnt matter how big they are... actually bigger the better.

Thanks again fellas.

after going through my Ford Manual and carefully checking the images of the oiling system. There looks to be a port of some sort on the passenger front of the car. So the Right front of the car. I need to know if this is the oil sending unit port on this 94 ATX. Im still researching. But it would be EASIEST to see the motor up close. Its hard to me to work out on the street. But slowly Im getting it taken apart.

The oil pressure sending unit is on the rear (firewall side) head. It's towards the driver's side and has 1 90 degree boot that plugs on to it. Cost's 8 bux.

Okay... so the oil pump is a housing that bolts to the front of the block...

Thats most likely where Im gonna find my leak.

Anyone know of a write up on this?

Thanks again for the pic.

This helped so much.

Im hoping that the gaskets that came with my fel-pro front crank seal are the front gaskets for the oil pan and the oil pump housing. I have great pressure... but Ill find out for sure about that leak tommorow.

I suppose someone that did a front 60k on the motor could have backed out too many oil pump bolts...other than that, I can't imagine the oil pump leaking. It's a pretty good seal.
You might wanna get a couple of cans of brake cleaner and spray off the old oil and gunk(before craking the seals). this will make finding the gusher much easier.

There's no reason to remove the oil pump for a 60K service.

I understand that... However AFTER doing my 60k I still have a terrible oil leak. The only thing left is either the oil pan... Or my oil pumps Gasket surface. From the way its leaking its most likely the upper right part of the oil pump housing.

I will surely try to fix the leak without having to remove the pan firts. If at all possible. If not then on saturday I will be pulling the pan and replacing the entire gasket.

Man at this point Im getting ready to sell as is... but hopefully I can get it working right.

Okay... I replaced the cam seals again. Turns out I must have installed one of them badly and had it shear the rubber off the outer edge. But after I fixed that I resealed the oil pump. And Voila So far So good. No leaks. Still a bit of smoke from the residue on the cat but No puddle on the floor.

To reseal the oil pump. I merely loosened the bolts on the oil pan enough to drop it MAYBE an 1/8" and worked ever so slowly to reseal that with a bit of silicone. Then on the pump side the same after I unbolted it and pry'd it forward ever so enough to force a bit of silicone inbetween. But not enough to leave excess inside to ruin the pump. It worked out... and I got a tip for ATX owners... Simply remove the tensioner assembly for the Timing belt. Its only 2 12mm bolts and it is way easier to compress it in a vise or a Large Ball joint style C-Clamp. Instead of using a smaller 3in clamp where you have very little leverage.

To fix this I replaced anything I could.
- Cam seals
- Crank Seal
- Resealed the Pan and Pump
- and reinstalled a badly installed cam seal. Luckily I have 5 Left.

I can now do a full 60K front end in only 2 1/2 Hrs.

With only a handful of tools.

Anyone in socal who needs help need only ask.
