Hi all,
Long time lurker. I have learned a lot just from reading information on this forum including purchasing my first SHO 2 years ago. However, I have a problem that's driving me crazy. I searched the forum with no luck.

I have a short\electrical issue. It seems to happen within the first minute or two of driving and usually has something to do with the lights (although maybe just a coincidence), the headlights dim\flash the windshield washer fluid starts spraying nonstop, the dash lights up and dings.

First thing I thought of was the tag light recall. I examined the bulbs and they look fine, no water, no discoloration. I also updated 'mySYNC', which the usb was pulled out before it finished updating, but re-inserted it and got a install completed notification the day before all this started. Would a corrupt SYNC update cause these type of issues?

The car is tuned and has Meth installed.

Has anyone experienced anything like this? Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Welcome to the forum! What year SHO do you have? Are you datalogging at all? You can monitor battery voltages while this is happening. The most common cause of random electrical issues is a failing battery. The next is a faulty Body Control Module (BCM). Could also be a fuse, though I don't think ALL the mentioned items are on the same fuse.

Any deep water excursions/high pressure car washes lately? Make sure the drain lines for the sunroof (if you have one) and body (along the rocker panels) are open. If they are backed up, water could have gotten into the wiring and simply need drying out.

Thanks. It's a 2010. I will start data logging to catch the battery voltage when it happens. I will look into the battery and BCM. Probably put the stock tune back and disconnect the meth just to rule those out.

What is also weird is it seems to take a minute or two to start acting up and if it doesn't start after that minute, I can make it to my destination (so far).
While it's shorting out if I turn the lights off the washer fluid stops spraying, but as long as the lights are on it sprays away. On a side note I probably have the cleanest windshield around! I guess it could be worse, it could be the horn.

LOL ... Yeah, there could def be stray voltages from the meth kit install if you spliced into an existing circuit. An example from the HOW-TO that bpd put up on his meth kit install:
