Well, not fires, just a bit of smoke. I'm full of questions lately... :)

Here's another one. I have a car in the shop right now with some wiring issues.

The brake switch would blow it's fuse every 20 - 30 minutes. For a matter of a couple weeks, the owner continued to replace the fuse. Well, me thinks that whatever was grounding every 20 -30 minutes actually arced to the frame, as now the fuse blows immediately when installed.

A continuity test shows a short to ground at the fuse output side of the brake switch fuse.

Here is my question: Is there anything else attached to this fuse? I know it runs through the multiswitch and several other devices but is there a common part for failure here? We have spent several hours tracing wires, and before I continue charging, I want to see if I can save myself some time and the customer money by asking you guys for some help.

So, any suggestions?

You checked the hot wire to ground? Keep in mind that if you have light bulbs in there sockets you will not get a 0 ohm. Do you have a good diagram of the wires?
