So I had an issue for a while where the car wouldnt start up occasionally, you would hear it start to start for a split second and then nothing, try again and nothing at all.. so I would have to hit the starter with my flashlight and the car would start fine...

Now I try to start my car and all the electric just cuts off. I have to wiggle the wires at the battery terminal to restore power, try to start it again, **** everything shuts off. I took the cables off of the battery to find my negative battery cable completly corroded with white stuff. I chopped off the first inch and a half and removed some of the rubber insulater and its corroded all the way down. What would cause this to happen? If I want to replace my negative cable, where is the other end connected to?

the one end is to the bat and other is on mounting bolt to the starter, should be 15mm. real easy, takes about 5 min to replace.

You need a new battery and everything should be alright. Clean your cables up real well, replace if they are too corroded.
