Back the spring of 2003 I purchased a set of four Eibach lowering springs from tirerack and a set of front and back Tockico struts from (?).

I have been pleased with the overall performance of this combination.

Pros:
-The front and rear both sit about an inch lower that stock. I think it gives the car a very agressive stance.
-The ride is smooth on smooth roads. Body roll is greatly reduced. It has an overall sporty feel to it, hugs curves and stays connected to the road. I have no other suspension modifications other than this (unless you count ASB's) so I think my view is rather unbiased.

Cons:
-Either the rear springs are not stiff enough or the front struts are not holding enough, but on a hard launch there is a signifigant amount of body lift (or may be rear sag).
-Rough roads are now something I will drive miles out of my way to avoid.

Notes:
-I did not install these so i can not comment on the install difficulty.

Rating: 4 of 5

I have the Intrax and KYB GR2s my car is lower but, i would say my pros and cons would be the same as yours.

Not sure if this happens on yours, but on extremely bad roads i get the pogo affect. frown

Tony,

The pogo affect is because those KYB's aren't valved stiff enough for the stiffer springs. You have to make some sacrifices in the name of comfort. :)

I sell a lot of the Tokicos and a fair amount of the Eibachs and people seem to love them on their daily driven SHOs.

Cargo Coils have similar spring rates to Eibachs, and theyre cheaper too...of course, im biased.

Do the Cargo Coils lower the car any?

Also, how much did the Intrax/KYB set up cost?
I believe it was 420 bucks total from Summit Racing, a couple of years back.

when you cut coils, they do.

1 and 1/2 coils up front(cut off the top) resulted in a ~2" drop. 1 coil in rear(cut off the bottom) resulted in a ~2" drop.

So what if you weren't to cut the coils? Would there be any drop, that is if the current one's aren't sagging any?

without cutting coils, on a non-sagging stock suspension, it might actually be raised a little. all depends on what springs are in the car already. i had JIT codes up front and FLA in the rear.

I'm stupid. What does JIT and FLA codes mean?

BTW, you are located in Arlington, do you ever come anywhere close to Richardson. I would like to meet someone else who has a SHO and talk about 'em. I have yet to meet anyone that owns a SHO and know diddly squat about what the drive.

We have a strong statewide Texas SHO club.
We have three fun runs a year in Austin, San Antonio and Fort Worth. We run at the Motorsports Ranch and do all kinds of stuff.

Check out the LSSHOC section here.
Also here is our state wide message board:

JIT, FLA...are Spring Codes. Ford will designate a certain 3 or 2 digit code to a certain spring. each spring has a different load rating, the codes are to identify each spring. next time youve got the wheel off look on the spring for a tag, thats where the spring rate is.
