I have the SHO Shop 2003 catalog which says BBBs 'add 10HP at the top. Works best when teamed with our Intake Runners', and EH 'adds 10HP and 10 ft. lbs of TQ all across power band. Works best when teamed up with' BBBs.

Don't know if this equates to 20HP or not. My interpretation has always been that both together would give 10HP and 10 ft. lbs.

What say you? Has anyone got dyno results from just these mods?

Don't know of any results besides their own, but If each actually added 10 alone then I would think both together would likely be more than 10, but would also guess prob not a full 20.

IIRC Vadim tested the EH Intake and BBB together to get the 10hp and 10ft-lbs of torque.

Heres what I've always thought regading power increase per modification:

y-pipe: 5-10 HP No tuning needed.
Cold air intake: 0-2 HP No tuning needed
BBB/EH runners: 5-15 HP Tuning needed to realize the upper estimate.
UDP on Accessories: 5-7 HP No tuning needed
UDP on crank: ??? (someone guess?)

Here's my testing that I have done.

I went to the drags with my 91 Mocha Frost with a 3.2 swap.
The car has the following mods:
SHO SHOP CAI
Stock Maf
Stock Intake
SHO SHOP UDP's
Performance Plus Y pipe without cats
Dynomax cat back
This combo put down 210 WHP 210 WTQ

I ran this combo several times, mainly watching trap speed.
I then switched out the stock intake for the one off my green 91+.
The 91+ intake has been extensively ported by me. It has a bored out TB, no hornes, BBB's, EH runners, and silicone couplers.

I picked up a solid 2 1/2 MPH in trap speed.
This would end up being about 20-25 horse power gain.

$80 for bored out throttle body
$200 for Big Bore Butterfly's
$400 Extrude Honed runners
$75 Silicone Couplers

That's a lotta cash to spend for 20-25 HP.

Yeah, after a ypipe it's alot of cash for a little gain. Figuring out the $ per hp I have spent on my car is kinda depressing.

If you went strictly off of the SS catalog, we'd all have 350-400hp NA SHO's. :)

The way I take these claims (from any manufacturer) is that "up to 10 hp" means if you have a full bolt on engine with a stock set of butterflies, switching to BBB can add 10hp. Not anywhere close to 10hp if you bolt BBB onto a stock engine.
