The EGR valve is mounted to the driver side, rear of the intake manifold with a 12mm bolt on the bottom of the ****** and a combination of the 10mm nut and 12mm hex bolt on the top. There is a metallic gasket between the valve and the intake. Before you try to unbolt it, remove the plastic and sometimes brittle vacuum line from the valve.
The pressure sensor is the square aluminum box mounted on the manifold near the EGR valve. It monitors the pressure in the exhaust system upstream of the catalytic converters by way of the EGR recirc line. Other than providing an error code through the EEC when it detects a high pressure, I do not know what else the pressure signal is used for. It does have a variable signal output rather than just an on/off signal. anyone else know more about it's function?
