Also, everyone that is being critical of the SHO is completely wrong to the blind sheep fan boys. We haven't driven it, and can't talk about any part of the driving experience if we haven't. We also can't say its too expensive because it has similar features of another nicer car. Just because a car has a the same feature, or name such as a 12 speaker stereo, doesn't mean it will compete with Harmon Kardon or Bose.

How about Ford provide both?
how about they sweep this car under the rug and provide something AWD turning the quarter in the low 13s from the factory with full leather or 50/50, the ability to handle, a 6 speed manual, and most creature comforts that the average person looking for a car would want stock? you could get a stripped down SHO way back when but you still had EATC, maybe leather, power everything, keyless entry, and some other odds and ends. and there was no such thing as a performance package

I love Ford and I love the new SHO but this is how Ford has been getting us for the longest.

First we have the new Taurus. Then the Crown Vic/Grand Marquis gets killed off. Well the Taurus is supposed to be midsize but they need to replace the Vic so it is blown up to full size. If it had been left at this then that would have been fine. Ford could have just claimed they wanted to move the Taurus up in scale to replace the Vic and been done with it. It is a wonderful car that fills this void very well. They could have then just claimed the TT ecoboost was just for the ADDED performance kick and made up some link to the Crown Vic sport or something.

The Fusion is the new midsize car so common sense(which Ford lacks) would choose the Fusion as the new SHO. Performance would have been way better, handling would have been way better and so on. A manual would have probably been available too. Anyways this is just typical Ford bad decisions as usual. However I don't think the fusion weighs a whole lot less once you add the ecoboost and drivetrain but it is a better place to start if performance orientation is what they had in mind.

Ford is stuck on Taurus SHO when they should have been thinking just SHO. In a time like this it seems Ford would aim at the bullseye instead of just aiming at the target.

All this said I would still buy the new SHO and I plan on it. I won't be racing around a track, or flying on mountain roads either. I think it looks 100X better than a G8 and the interior is better too. Ultimately if the G8 or any other car it's compared to beats me atleast I will look better, be more comfortable, and have more gadgets (unless I get the performance pack). I just need great passing power, good aceleration, and good highway manners with comfort and a decent level of luxury. This has all of that.

Anything more serious and I have other cars to even the odds.

I was just cracking up as I read each one down the line. I think I made a comment somewhere else about how all these things people rave about, and will never use after owning the car for a month... **** I think everything on that list is ridiculous

and wow its got a nav system! WTF, grow a pair of balls, I've never used one of those in my life and I've driven to a lot of places....

rain sensing wipers, rear view camera(which is very dangerous IMHO, people will use that instead of actually looking, you know all the lazy americans will do that... wonder whose kid will be the first victim of our own ******* ideas), heated rear seats, blind spot warning...

how about one of those bathroom devices that shoots water on your crack, or something to get the sand out of your ******.........

heres something I don't see anyone talking about...... you got all that stuff, and with the crummy Ford quality, how much is all that shit going to cost to fix in 2 or 3 years when its breaking left and right... its just that much more stuff to pay for later on down the road... this car will cost a lot and see the dealer a lot in the long run I have a feeling.

you sissies who like performance driving would really pick a v6 with 365hp and a fwd based automatic only AWD system that will probably break over a RWD v8 muscle car with a 6 speed manual and the LS series engine inside.... all for 14 thousand dollars more you would pick this car just because of a name or heated rear seats and a navigation system.... I wouldn't even consider this car just because of the name, it is nothing like the original....

your all about to eat a pile of crap Ford is spoon feeding you, I hope it taistes real good for 40 grand..........
Not everyone lives in areas where it's easy to get around and some find it very helpful to have a NAV system. Probably why it's a multi-million dollar aftermarket industry now.

The SHO is not the first car to get rain-sensing wipers, GM has had it for many years on their cars & trucks, as well as BMW and others.

You can speculate all you want about how the rear-view camera is going to cause more problems and maybe it will cause some but I think it's obvious if people use it, they will be much better off than not looking at all. Many more children get killed from big SUV's and cars because they have a huge blindspot behind them and cant' see when backing up. Remember Christian singer Stephen Curtis Chapman's daughter was killed by his son when backing up their big SUV last year?

Crummy Ford quality?? I'm sorry exactly where are you getting your information from? Ford is near the top of the list on quality with the likes of Honda, Toyota, Hyundai, etc now. And I can personally tell you working in an automotive repair shop, I rarely see many problems with Fords of late. GM's however are wonderful for me... they really help my make more $$ on commissions from all their repairs!

How many times do I need to explain the SHO is NOT $14k more than a G8 (look at my previous posts for clarity)

And you are right, this SHO is nothing like the original formula.... but we've already discussed that many times.

I've never ridden on the back of a camel, though I hear they can go a long way without stopping.

If you could show me a camel that can run as fast, would I be remiss for stating that I think I would prefer a thoroughbred Quarter Horse?

Apparently you are rather ill informed about camels too.
