I wired up a on-off switch to short out the outside temp button on the '93 today. All works well and it is pretty easy to do. Used some 20ga single strand bell wire and soldered it to the terminals shown on the web page. I have the newer '95 version which is different than the original one in my '93. I have included a pic of the '93 circuit board and where the two wires should be soldered.

I believe this allows the outside temperature to be displayed constantly.

I like it. I don't need to see that my inside temperature is 72. It's always 72.

I also think Paul just likes making strange modifications to his SHOs!

Sorry I should have explained. This displays the outside temp all the time unless you want to change the CC setting. It is just like holding the outside temp button down.

I like the idea and give it a fat thumbs_u GM's have had the option to display one or the other in their climate controlled vehicles for years. It's about time someone engineered one for the SHO. What was Fords logic for having the interior constantly displayed anyway?

SHOZ123,

If you add a barametric preasure guage and an altimeter you would be able to predict icing conditions, fog, and maybe even rain. Neat stuff eh. rangerj tool

ah those auto dimming mirrors with temp sensors in them will flash ICE in big letters if the temp goes from above to bleow freezing while driving. Well at least one brand that I have seen does.

Paul that sounds like a mod that I'll end up doing, cause I'd rather see the outside temp anyway. But first I have to relocate my EATC and mp3 headunit.

I have a challenge for you
is there any way to make the display go blank?
it really bugs me to see OFF written accross the dash. its like... whats off? i mean the car is running, radio works, but something is OFF? ya know? kinda wierd. anyway, thats also my next mod, i like it. By the time im done rewiring my car for the 60th time, i will have a huge panel of switches under the dash. hehe, and as soon as thats done, i will post pics.

I did this mod today and I love it! thumbs_u I also relocated the CC and cd player and I must suggest that you swap them if you have a lowered suspension... my 93 has an alpine aftermarket cd player and since I installed the intrax/tokico combo it skipped all of the damn time. Not now with the cd player where the CC was. Bottom line is thanks to those who come up with these crazy off the wall mods... I learn more & more everyday and this wiring stuff scared me until I actually dove into it and did it with Paul's guidance of course wink .

I don't know what it is from. It has a green/yello lighting whereas my '93 OEM lighting is blue/green. It is the one with the hard buttons.
