About a year ago I replaced the front ignition wires to correct a miss, putting the rears off for another time. Today was that time. Since it's an all day job that I don't want to do again anytime soon, I decided to replace the rear plugs given that my set of double platinum Motorcraft plugs are mid time at 35K.

Long story short, I'm running the proper AGSP32PP in the front head and the dimensionally longer replacement AGSP32FM in the rear head.

I can report that the Duralast 4142 plug set works well for either plug. The design incorporates an accordion bellows like design that is able to compress enough to fit the shorter PP plugs and still seal well with the longer FMs. This is a very good thing since PPs have become unobtanium.

The wires themselves seem to be quite well made and the front set have performed well for over a year. It just so happens that these plug wires are one of the least expensive on the market. Another good thing.
:woo-hoo:

Every time ive bought duracrap theyve all failed with in 20k or less.. I will never buy duralast again.. They are cheap for a reason, would you rather pay less and have to warranty it out every year or so or pay a few extra bux and know that every time you turn the key itll work how it is suppose to?

I can report that the Duralast wires are very good. St. Louis SHO recommended them, and unlike every set of Taylor wires I've had, they haven't started arcing after 6 months.

Double platinum should be good for 100k. Did you check to see if the plug well seals were leaking oil?

I checked the valve clearances while I had the runners off and resealed. There were no leaks.

By your post, are you suggesting that a PP with 35K on it is going to outlast a new FM plug? I had considered that but ended up going with the new plug. It was a coin toss, I admit. The runners are still off... hummm.

I put Duralast wires in about 2 months before the SHO went into winter hibernation. Seemed to work well before I stopped driving it. I guess we'll see how they hold up over time. I do have to say that they did seem like they were very good construction when I was installing them.
