Btw, the Limited and Raptor share the same ** version of the 3.5L...there are some differences with the other ones. Pistons (making a different CR) are one point of difference

There was a member (I can't for the life of me remember his name) that wanted to fight with every one that the PP cars didn't have better pistons. Well @shoblock showed up and cleared that up rather quickly.

The scary part is the PP pistons are for extended idling sessions.

If one such as myself, with a non pp had the opportunity, would it be worth picking up some pp pistons or are aftermarket pistons the way To go

I don't know if I would just pick them up unless there was a specific project build. Having them and waiting for an internal failure seems crazy since the failure could ruin a cylinder or block.

Not sure, but the Raptor Crank is the cat's meow...

I’m looking forward to that aspect of Jordan_R’s build. Not sure how you will ever be able to know if there is a difference between the Raptor and the ‘16+ SHO during tuning and use though.

But coming from a background of frankenstein engines (Honda/Nissan) where internal parts are interchangeable, I can’t help but wonder just how much of the raptor internals can work in the SHO block.

I don't think the sho engine has changed since 2013. The raptor engine is at least 2 generations ahead now. If you make an adapter for the transmission you could swap engines.

Interesting. The physical dimension specs should be out there somewhere.

You must love sifting through hay stacks for needles! the internet sucks for specific, accurate, reliable information. Which is why I put so much stock in Forums. Hard to deny personal experience with evidence.

I’m just so interested in the thought of taking a long block and complete heads from a Raptor, doing some Jekyll and Hyde shit with a SHO long block and heads l, and suddenly having Raptor performance.
I do understand the Raptors have different turbos and such, but GH can help get around that.

Make an adapter plate for the trans and swap the total engine. Cut out or eliminate anything that doesn't fit.

I had a 377 in a Chevy s10 that basically was installed using welders, torches, and sledgehammers.

I have a rwd Nissan that is dying for a Hemi swap after I stop spending money on the SHO... and when my son is ready for a stupid complicated engine swap

They cranked it to 11. I wish they offered the ** engine in a regular cab xlt. It would be SHOtime!
