You must have a tacklebox sized wallet
Not necessarily, I make very good money especially for my age but I like tinkering and trying to make new things work so thats why i say if I ever get my car that fast maybe ill spend the time to try to get something figured out. I was talking to someone yesterday about how ill have to buy a CNC sooner or later and hopefully for everyone thats sooner than later ;)

Ooppphh! Man, a used 5-axis Hurco big enough to do a billet RDU/PTU case can run DEEP into the 6 figures...man that's awesome if you ever do, I'll be the first in line, haha! Might be easier to find a way to 3D map it, and contract a company to produce it...

I'm the same way. I bailed on my SHO because I couldn't afford all of the equipment I'd need to make it work. I figured it would be cheaper to buy something that had everything I wanted from the start.

Fully upgraded sho still can't run full e85 reliably. Also they have multiple "borrowed time" items such as timing chain/water pump, transmission, ptu.
I really wanted it to work out and if aftermarket support was there I was going to go all in, but im not going to spend 10k on a motor to have my trans fail because there's no upgrade available. I honestly wish ford had given the sho a 2018 upgrade and advertised it as a charger killer. But they knew it was dead....probably since 2013.

I didn't get a notification of the tag... However I made probably 550awhp and somewhere over 600ft lbs when my rod said uncle. Transmission hates the torque front the engine. I don't know if I would be too concerned of HP when it comes to the transmission because honestly when I had 2 passengers and full interior making 647 ft lbs I physically felt the transmission clutch packs slip in 4th when doing a pull. That's why the car won't ever be full interior anymore and torque will be dialed back next time around. Given my trans also has 136k miles on it. PTU is the last of my concerns and so is the RDU. Just my 2 cents

Thanks. My goal is to get around 550 and somewhat reliable lol so if anything maybe ill try to get a lower tq tune, but at that point I may decide to just go all out on it tbh.

Good luck with the higher end. I have a healthy skepticism of stock American FWD transaxles. Ford and GM were supposed to have cooperative transaxle program to handle higher hp/tq powerplants as the trend was growing power in those platforms. That was proposed 10-15yrs ago and never went anywhere. Zach is figuring his out in the blue car so not impossible.

Hmm. I just looked into this and I see that in 2002 they agreed to spend a combined 170 million on this venture and it appears they did, thats when GM came out with 6T.. series and ford came out with 6F.. series transmissions in about 2006....also, its been stated a few times in this thread the ford engineers claim that they started having failures at the 720 CHP mark, so id say thats pretty beefy for a stock trans

Yeah i know sorry if I wasn't clear about that, luigi is claiming the program never went anywhere. Im saying it obviously did as we have the same tranny from two different manufacturers

They were suppose to make an 8 or 10 speed trans axle in conjunction to the 6 speed.

Now the explorer may be your savior but remember the mach suv. They will merge mustang and mach suv to share as much as possible to reduce costs.

Also know this: the f150 is the best selling truck and "car" in America for almost decades. If anything it is their flagship.

I must have missed the end product or confused the collaboration project. I thought it was lost in the '08 economic crisis and bailout. Those car platforms are cancelled for now. Market forces can always bring it back. Like gas prices or large economic contraction or whatever else can go down these days. Things are until they are not.

*** you hearing anything about 10sp issues in Mustangs? I thought I saw a thing or 3 somewhere.

Yeah and I've been told I may have issues if I exceed 800tq at the wheels in my truck.

The Mustang crowd is awesome for R&D.
