driver side endlink will NOT come off!

i cleaned the tip of the threads as best i could. pb blasted it a few days ago. and went at it with some big wrenches. got it about half way. and it stoped. wont go any farther. the tip is stripped by now so i am now trying vice grips on the tip, with an open end on the nut. i clamped the vice grips as tight as humanly possible for me on there and braced it against the strut. then i tried turning the wrench. after hulking out on it for a bit, it eventually starts to spin inside the vice grips... how the **** im supposed to get this ************* off. im this close too giving him a nice friendly visit with Mr. Dremel tomorrow if he refuses to cooperate again plz help me from cutting it to shit. and if i have to cut it, where should i cut it so it will the cheapest to fix?

Well the end links are cheap, I would suggest getting a new one and make a cut just behind the nut, being careful not to cut into the sway bar or strut.

yea, i guess thast what ill be doing. didnt really think there was enough room to do that, but i hadnt really looked at it yet. i assume that the endlink comes w/ a new nut? and whats a ballpark price for them, at like autozone? can you only buy one? cause when i got new rears, you could only buy them in a pair.

Heat wrench(aka torch), lotsa fun! You need a real torch not a propane one.

yea i may look into that too. but that would ruin the rubber boot. plus i was nervous around the strut, would that be dangerous doing it that close? i also only have mapp gas anyway. works pretty damn good, can get the bolts glowing red really fast. so i cant like cut through it, but it gets weak as shit when heated like that.

New plastic ones are about $20 each and new metal ones are about $30 each. Both styles come with new nuts for both ends. I would recommend the metal "Windstar style" ones.

Quick and easy way to go about doing this, but be sure to use caution. I torched my driver's side end link and nearly ruined the part on the sway bar where the end link bolts in to!

It's very easy to remove these if you do it the right way. All you do is use either a dremel tool or grinder and grind 2 flats- one 180 degrees from the other. Then grip it with an adjustable wrench. I had the same problem as you and it worked great.

thats a great idea. will be working on it in a few hours. will def try to make a flat spot on the tip of it. dunno why i didnt think about that. mines like a perfect circle now. so im goin to give it the heat treatment on and off. and dremel a flat spot, ill let you know how it goes later tonight. thanks!
