I'm going in 10 days to try my luck for the first time. I cant' figure out if I need to use S mode or not? Should I just keep it in D with traction on. Any advice would be good I tried launching once at 2000 rpm and it was ok I think I can do better. Its hotter than ****! right now in AZ today was 108 so its going to be the same when I go to drag night. Putting in a low temp Tstat tomorrow or next day when it gets here. Had to get a new tune file with that, so I hope it runs better. Just got oil changed today and I can already tell she needed it.

Keep it in Drive, turn traction control off. If not tuned, 2200-2400 is a good range for launch. Tuned, around 2000 rpm. Try lowering tire pressures, see what works best. At some point, you will likely need to swap out the PTU/trans/RDU fluid, but don't know how well the PTU cooler on the PP works. If the shifting feels too hard (hop/clunk feel), you may want to have shift pressures lowered (may not apply to your SHO, have seen this on 2010-12 tho).

Thank you ! I wasn't sure about this. I haven't had any issues with my tune shifting is good. Only notice it being goofy right after I load a new file. After a few months of normal driving it calms down. Yes I have had the violent shifting almost a car hop. It has gone away since I left my tune alone. Thanks again for the help .

I believe the SPORT mode is kind of the "O/D Off" mode a lot of older cars had. You should try it to see how it feels to you. Probably not great on mileage, but should be fun ;)

I love sport mode so does the wife in the city better acceleration and engine sounds way better from 0-60 but I feel like D will work better for 1/4 mile. Now with the fluid changes is something I should just do for my 25k matinence ? I had to google PTU and RDU fluid so I'm still learning.

If you can, you should change out the fluids (trans/PTU/RDU). If the trans fluid looks & smells like it should, you could do a single drain & fill (about 5 quarts) every time you do the PTU & RDU, to reduce time & effort. PTU (75w140) and RDU (80w90) fluid = differential oil = gear oil.

That sounds good I think I need to get my mechanic buddy over here to make sure I don't mess it up. Or I'm taking it to ford for the PTU fluid change going to call and get a price. And I'll check the trans fluid as well and do what you said.
So many fluids so little time haha
