So I installed my PPE DPs and then had to pull them back off to get the front DP's second half on (they are two pieces now) and had to pull the rear to access the wastegate hose. Should I get new gaskets? They look like a one time use since they get flattened after installation. My car definitely sounds a lot louder than it was before the install. I can't hear anything at idle but under acceleration I'm getting a loud hum/grunt. I also installed the GH V3 turbos but I doubt they'd make it any louder. I also installed the polyurethane trans mount and seem to be getting a lot of vibrations throughout the car. Has anyone noticed an increase in sound after installing them?

if they don't have any damage to the gasket you're fine to re-use.

As for the trans mounts, they should soften up after 100 miles of driving, but you can ask your tuner to raise the idle speed by 100 rpm and it usually helps to soften the blow.

I just can't figure out why I'm getting the new noise then? Maybe the front DP 2 piece connection isn't sealed up good? I put high temp silicone on the connection to help prevent leakage?

You can use high temp red rtv. Works great as header gaskets just by itself. But check all the connection spots also

Typically youll get lean/rich codes if the triangle gaskets fail. If lean toward the post cat connection possibly, but an exhaust leak will be audibly noticeable at all rpms not just under load.

Change intakes or install hot pipes at the same time by chance?

No I had the Airaid on before the install, only things new on the intake side were the GH intercooler and phenolic intake spacer. I did notice a little more exhaust note at the tailpipes when it was idling to warm up before I left for work. I'm thinking its the trans mounts vibration throughout the body of the car. I was getting some new rattles in the cabin that I nver use to hear also. I'm not real happy about PPE making the front DP two pieces, I'm thinking it there or the triangles but I have both cranked down pretty tight. Does anyone know the torque specs for the DP nuts? I will double check them tonight.

My car makes the same noise. Hollow, almost brassy, under WOT, about about 3,000 toms or so...just lasts a moment.

That's because I got rid of the cats. So, now, the entire downpipe acts as a resonator. I'd say this is normal. More air volume = more capacity for sound.

I checked all the exhaust nuts on the DP and looked for any leak at the coupling for the front one and all were good. So I decided to swap the stock trans mounts back in and it was gone! I guess I just have to deal with it until they loosen up some. Once I get my tune from GH with the higher idle speed and more power I'll reinstall them. I'm on the stock tune still so I probably don't need them that much. Plus I rarely romp on it from a dead stop unless I line up with someone at a light.

Are they AD or SSM mounts?
