They can fit like a glove and not have to cost nearly $2k. They are just swimming in money at that price. You could commission a set in titanium from a fab shop for that much.

In titanium? Dream on for that price. Ask around how much some other custom DP set ups have cost other members.

**** just my mid pipe set up was almost $500 and I supplied the resonator and flanges.

I bought catted PPE pipes this Feb of this year paid $999 including shipping. Had to wait about 6 weeks for them to be made by PPE. Don't know why such a price increase now.

Did you get the new updated PPE catted down pipes, with the Magnaflow cats?

I bought the non catted pipes in April and they worked on the price for me and even took just half to start the work. Charged me the other half on delivery. I believe they cost me like $789 something around that number. Call them and talk to them. Very professional and big car buffs obviously. They love that their products are in the SHO game and love the feedback and following.

Sigh. So, I stopped at the local place that does testing...and no, no sniff test, just obd reading.

But. They do a visual inspection of the catalytic converter.

No cheap solution for me. And no, I don't want the hassle of swapping DPs and retuning every 2 years...

Things I never had to worry about with an older car.

Do they put the car on a lift to confirm the cats? If you have the under tray cover on your car.....they probably will not even look if they see that.

Yeah, what SM105k said. My state does a visual inspection and checks to see if there are codes, and that's all. They don't take any real readings.

Yeah...

**** it. I'm going with the non cat dps. Worst case, I save my stockers, fail the test, and have to re-instal.

There are people who used to bust out the catalyst and keep the empty cats on for visual inspection. Not that I would ever recommend doing such a thing...
I think keeping the original set up is not a bad idea.

I kept all of my stock exhaust. I even modifed the mid pipes to be completely plug and play. However, my SHO just passed emissions with the PPE catted DP's and my custom mid pipe setup. I am good for two years.

I am glad I don't have to worry about emissions testing here. I own a 1996 bronco with the 5.8l and the cat/y-pipe rusted off of it, loud AF now but that doesn't matter when you're driving through a mud pit! lmao

The cats have no markings of manufacture, can't answer about Magnaflow. The pipes have the newer style cast flanges. The pipes are very well made. High quality, but for sure I think the current price on these will scare off most customers. Like I said, they don't keep any pipes in stock on hand. I ordered/ paid for, then they made them. 6 weeks later they arrived. Maybe before they were mass produced sets and PPE kept an inventory which was cheaper to make and sell. I see very high craftsmanship with these. Zero defects in quality
