- Installed, now a member of the Aftermarket Downpipe club, LOL It was a journey, I'll tell you, took forever to find someone trusted to install, took two weeks to get them ordered and another eight for them to be built, ceramic coated and shipped.
- So here are my thoughts so far, a 100 times better quality then the stock pipes, those PPE pipes will last life of the car and then some, the stock pipes where already rusted crap and you can see the difference in size. I would take a picture so you could see the difference but the scrap guy offered me $20 for them and I forgot to take a picture. It would be a stretch to say the new pipes are worth the money just to have quality parts but not much of a stretch. StealBlueSho was right on the money, I don't have a tune an so far No Error Codes with the PPE pipes. It feels quicker but who knows, it will take a tune to really take advantage of the new pipes. I have not drove it that much an don't have an temperature data to share but if I come up with something of importance I will update you folks, Have a great day.

UPDATE: So after living with my new Down Pipes for six weeks which included a 1500 mile road trip, thought I'd take a few moments and share my impressions. First I should be clear, I have no empirical data to prove myself, this is all just seat of the pants how it makes me feel, also keep in mind I'm still on a stock tune so there is still a lot of performance left on the table.
- Well worth the $1400 investment for pipes an install.
- Fist things first, I had an appointment for annual inspection at the stealership, Then I thought twice about it an took it to my local shop, she passed with flying colors and no questions.
- Performance speaking, I always found the ECOBOOST to be a very smooth motor with a really nice power band and the new DP's make it even smother at low end, additionally as stated by someone, somewhere else, they really earn there keep once you get her out on the highway, she breaths deep and keeps asking for more. This was my first road trip and if I loved this car before I am obsessed by her her now, I was ether in the mountains or driving 80mph or both and still got 19.6 mpg. On my homeward bound run I got unexpectedly passed by a very expensive Porsche, I easily caught up to him until I hit the stock limiter, LOL Probably best thing could have happened I let him run blocker for awhile and made great time.
- I had mine ceramic coated, pretty sure operating temps are the same but the cats do seem to cool off pretty quick, cool quicker then stock I couldn't say but I like the ceramic coating so I would do that again also. Anyway well worth the money for me, hope that helps someone, have a great day.

Get a tune yet to take advantage of those downpipes?
LOL Funny you asked, YEP I just got around to it a few weeks ago and we are still going through the tune revision. I went with BCB but they just moved there shop so there a little backed up right now, so its taking awhile to get it all sorted out.

Any drone from the exhaust with just downpipes? I imagine you won't at this point. if you decide to got Cat Back exhaust mod do not use Magnaflow! I'm not bad-mouthing them, just not very happy with mine - ton of drone at 75-80 mph (2,000 - 2,200 RPM). I want to get "catted," DP's but fear the drone will get even worse!!!

V6's with exhaust in my opinion sound like crap. The only ones that sound decent were the old F1 cars and the Buick GN's. If you were to do DP's, leave the factory resonator in (there is no performance losesthere) and just added the magnaflow mufflers I bet you would be happier. Still quiet under normal driving conditions, with no rasp and decent sound under WOT. Put the bigger resonator in and you will be happier I believe.

My first SHO I had downpipes with the rest of the exhaust stock, no rasp or drone at all. It sounded a little deeper at start up than completely stock, but not super noticeable. Second SHO I have downpipes and full corsa catback. It sounds amazing at startup. There is a little bit of rasp when you get on it from about 2-3K rpms, but normal cruising on the highway you can't even tell it has aftermarket exhaust.

Not sure I would spend that amount of money if I had to do over again, but when I use the remote start as I am walking to my car, it does make me smile every time I hear it.
