I have a question for the SHO world, I'm looking to buy a set of PPE DP with cats because I want to use the stock tune if and when I may need to. I have spoken with PPE and Eco Power Parts (they did the testing) and EPP was very clear these pipes where for Off Road Use Only and where not Street legal. He stated the Cats even though they meet California standards did not have a EPA number and would not pass a visual inspection. So I get all that and understand why he is so clear but does that mean that all aftermarket DP with or without cats are NOT street legal and someone somewhere could fail your car. Where I live does not do a sniffer test but I am sure they look to see if you have cats just not sure if they look for an EPA number. Thanks in advance hope everyone is well.

Most shops wouldn't recognize a aftermarket cat to a stock one. lol.. Here in N.Y. when they plug into the processor
and there are codes or check engine light it will fail.. If there are no codes it will pass.. Its an 800 dollar gamble or
you change them back 2 weeks or so before inspection.. That's what I am going to do.. I have a year to enjoy them
before I see if it passes inspection..

I live in VA... all they look for is that there are cats on the pipes... if they do emissions testing they just check make sure the ECU has passed the readiness test(this is per county)...

You do not need EPA stamped cats... they won't check that... just that they are there...

In my county they do not require emissions testing.... the check for cats is part of the safety inspection which is at the state level...

So I guess we can use all the old gaskets?

The gaskets are reuse able if they are in good shape.. they are not the semi Metallica organic ones from the days of old..

Some have chosen to replace them just to be safe...

The ones between the cats and turbos on mine were fine and hey had 48K miles on them...

They are not expensive if you want to replace them... some shops will require new gaskets if you are having a shop do it...

My car only has 11,000 miles on it.. They are all steel gaskets.. Just thought for 800 dollars you would
get everything to do the job.. I guess that's my mentality working for a ford dealer.. Try to do the job once..LOL..

Yea, I have never received gaskets with my exhaust parts on any of my cars. Just thought they were all like that.

Yours just arrived today, shipping is frantically scrambling to get all the back ordered ones out. THEN we can fill any new orders. *wink wink, nudge nudge*

YUUUUUSSSS...

Another reason to love Friday.

A nudge might not be needed as I'm still debating a meth kit. Only issue for me is finding a place that has (or can get) meth locally.

My original plan was to have it shipped to my friend's service station, but that's no longer a possibility.
