Most likely this is just carbon fiber style vinyl (like pinstriping) - the auction just shows rectangles, not custom-cut pieces. You can buy a 30"x40" piece here for $70. You can also buy 15" roll for $5 a foot here. Those were just the first sites to come up in Google. Besides, carbon fiber stickers = rice.

I've made my own overlays for chipped gen2 b & c pillars using 3m blackout tape (the same kind used in car factories now instead of painting). This material also has a protective top layer you peel off once the piece is in place. Not that hard, but you want to precisely cut the piece in place with a hobby knife and tuck it under the rubber trim edges with a plastic squeegee, and wrap it around the door evenly so it looks good inside also. The shape of the piece is unique for all six pillar locations, and not a rectangle. I was thinking of making templates and cutting some kits with my extra material and selling them on ebay, this would actually be a stick-in-place application instead of rectangles that you would need to cut, but also lots of work.

Well those dont look half bad. Would probably be a good solution to the normal chipping/peeling/fading of the pillars as they are now. Im just glad those things arent those god awful chrome plates that people are putting on their 300's now...

I know that they are just vinyl.... if they arent that would be great too.

Why would you show me whats avalible and then turn around and tell me its rice..... and then you put tape on your car... regardless if its what the manufacture uses....

I dont think its "rice".... guess thats just a personal taste.

nevermind.........

:squint:

Im gonna have the thing painted white , matching the cars color.

I think the CF (real or fake) is used too much , and i think its not that nice on a car.

I think Nimz painted his with bumper paint.

Came out quite good actually

Personally I don't think CF is the best solution for anything

I contacted them on ebay. I still need to install them but they are precut. I can send you the email.
