dome lights will not shut off!!!!!!!!!

I have a 93 SHO and my dome lights and the lights around the key holes will not shut off. The door light on the dash says that all the doors are shut and I checked the switch and it is not on. I even relaced it. I have been fighting this for months and can not figure it out. I unpluged the little box in the trunk and they still stay on. It keeps draining my battery. anyone know anything about this? I think it has something to do with the ilumination dimmer thing ni the trunk. is there a way to bypass it?

Replace all of the door switches, the push switch in the jamb towards the front of the car. Its a good idea to replace ALL of them, i got mine from rockauto

I remember people having issues with the main headlight switch melting down and causing problems, alot of stuff goes through it, might be worth a look.

ya the dimmer dial controls dome circuit , could be that too! try unplugging the 2 harnesses where the dimmer dial is ? or one if you dont have auto lights and see if they shut off , or you may have a wire shorting somewhere in the car , but with fords the domlight circuit is positive and not negating so power somewhere has to be shorting

I have tryed unpluging the dimmer dial I even went as far as changing it. none of the door adjar lights are on. I opended all doors one at a time to see if the door ajar light came on and it did and shit off when door was shut. I tryed changing that little black box in the trunk and nothing. I just cant figure this one out. but its gotta get fixed its draining my battery! maby change all door switches??? how hard is that?

When i had the same problem as yours i tried swapping the keyless entry box, checked the dimmer switch and everything else. I did not have a door ajar light on, and i tried to fi d the bad switch and only replace the ones i concluded were bad. The problem was only solved when i replaced all switches
