A visual check of the ground path will usually suffice. Check the ground strap from the firewall to the upper bolt on the passenger side rear intake manifold bracket. Also verify the torque on the two 12mm bolts that secure the intake balancing tube to the front and rear plenums. Then check the four screws that attach the DIS module to the balance tube.

The grease is heat sink compound and can be foun at Radio Shack in the soldering supplies area in a tiny .23 ounce tube for a few bucks. Only a very thin film of the compund is required.

Scott, do you think it would be benficial to use an artic silver compound like they use on computer chips? in case youre not familiar with it, it has better heat transfer capabilities. or do you think its best to stick with normal stuff and not experiment too much?

BoB,

Either would be fine. The Generic white stuff is adequate. You probably would never see any benefit of using the high grade stuff.

i'll be using the Artic Silver cause i already have some of that so i'll let you know if works well or anything better, but i'm guessing it will be just fine with either since it's more of transfering the current rather than having to transfer heat....i'll see though
