Hey guys. I have one digital and two manual type gauges by Accutire. Was wondering (especially for you guys who have track days) what's the best digital gauge is in terms off accuracy and durability.

I found one by Motion-pro for 170.00 and another from Long-acre racing but that one was 300 bucks.

What are you recommendations for top quality gauges?

Thanks

I have a variety of inexpensive digital tire pressure gauges and they all read virtually identical to one another. I also have an expensive Steelman digital tire pressure gauge for filling and deflating tires and it too reads the same as the much less expensive gauges. There are probably very few manufacturers of the pressure sensors used in these gauges which could explain why they all pretty much read the same.

$20 something at Sears, digital, does 1/2 pounds, llights up, lets you set a pressure, lets you deflate to your desired number, and makes the same sound as the expensive ones when I drop it.

I'm surprised Ford didn't include actual tire pressure readings as a displayed option.

Would have been nice wouldn't it. Oh well -- maybe future versions will be a little more comprehensive.

In the meantime, my half pound resolution gauge(s) will probably do for now checking occasionally in the morning when tires are cold.
To each his own tho.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I want an accurate gauge not just for my SHO but I have a GL1800 motorcycle as well and a few pounds plus or minus makes a difference on a bike that weighs 1000 lbs.

I just went through a rear tire with less than 5000k on it and was told it was a pressure issue. I have 3 gauges. 2 mechanical (Accutire) and one digital by Kuryakyn. They are within a few lbs of each other but who know's which is the most accurate.

Would seem an easy task to at least correlate/check your gauges to a known accurate one if one can be located.
A little cheaper than spending a small fortune buying one.

As I said, tho, to each his own.

That is too bad, especially since the computer knows the actual pressures. Using my DS708 I can see the individual tire pressure values via the OBD-II port. Seems like it should have been easy to display those values on the Nav screen or the driver information center like some of the other manufacturers do.
