Hey guys I’m new here ( first real post) I recently purchased a ‘13 PP completely bone stock and I’m thinking about doing exhaust upgrades with a 3bar map to begin with. My question is, what’s the difference between x-pipes? Everyone that runs them seems to run magnaflow (nothing against magnaflow) but when searching for x pipes of the same diameter I get a thousand more results of other branded xpipes for 1/3 of the cost. Is there really a reason to jump for magnaflow in comparison to everyone else?

My 1st inclination would be doubtful.

It's a 'X' pipe after all. How much variation could there possibly be?

I have one on mine, which was/is a hand built/fabricated one off, just the like remainder of my entire exhaust setup (compliments of the now defunct/shuttered NESHO).

I would say pay attention to welds most importantly, and type of material used, and other than that, I can't think of much else to cause such a wide pricing range.

Hopefully others will chime in to assist.

Magnaflow tends to use the highest quality materials out of all the mass produced products, is well known, etc. pricewise I suppose you could have a muffler shop weld you one up for cheaper IF part of a complete turboback project. By itself, Magnaflow and ready, set, go!

I have the obx catback with lms catless downpipes. Sounded good. Installed alright. Just muffler couldnt clamp up hard enough but i just used the piping and deleted the mufflers. So its a true no muffler no cat exhaust. Just the x pipe. And for the price. Its a good deal if you wanna use different mufflers. The obx mufflers sounded good just they would need to be welded for the tips to sit straight.
The car just sounds like a diesel truck. All the turbo noise you can ever imagine on it without a turbo upgrade

On top of that, I really liked the sound with the H pipe better than I do now with the X. I'll probably swap back eventually.
