I must say that I think I might have made a mistake by purchasing this programmer. Their support is not so good up to this point. Looking for any help. Would like to find myself running in the mid 12's like the other SHO's with the same bolt on upgrades. As of this point my best pass is a 13.23 @ 109mph.

First of all, I don't know anything about Diablo tuners. Further, I don't know the DA where you ran.

Having said that, you likely need a better tune. Livernois and Unleashed both have impeccable reputations and vast experience with the Ecoboost. With your mods and a reasonable DA, either Livernois or Unleashed can help you get into the mid 12s.

By the way, your trap speed is excellent which indicates you are making good power.

Yo tony asked a great question about your 60. What was your launch technique?

I will have to look at the time slips for the 60, and since I'm new to this type setup in a car, my launch is spool the motor and let go on green/ insert smiley face. Would be glad to take any advice on where to shift and a better launch system.

I am far from expert but you definitely need to leave it in drive (or sport if you have a 2013+) and not use the paddles for drag racing.

I hold left foot on the brake, raise rpm to about 1800, release brake and floor accelerator on the last yellow. By the way, reaction time has NO bearing on your ET.

The really serious guys will launch at a higher rpm and even hold that rpm long enough to build boost prior to launch. They lower tire pressure for better traction. They will get 1.70 - 1.75 60 foot times. I am more conservative and have 60s in the 1.90 range.

And they will have better brakes to hold that spooling at higher rpm :) Esp on a 10-12 MY vehicle.

Try a "BRAKE LAUNCH. line up hold brakes spool up to approximately 2000 RPM hold accelerator and release brakes at the 2nd yellow light the difference between the yellow and Green is very small and if you wait until green your already losing. It took me a few tries but once I got the hang of it I got the 13.2 1/4MI I beat a Dodge Charger HEMI 392. He had the Speed at 109MPH but I had the time at 13.2 they were 13.7 The low end initial torque got me the quicker start and although he eventually caught up with me on speed with his V8 I already crossed the timing marker.

So now I feel a bit sheepish, I have a 2013. So in sport mode it will shift auto as well? We also have a 2014 Mustang GT that we run, but to be completely honest it is much more fun bringing mommas car out! :whip:

It will shift in sport mode if you DON'T touch the paddles. If you are in sport mode and use the paddles, you have engaged the manual shifts and you don't want that.

I don't think you will find any difference in your times whether you use drive or sport, though.

If you're just going to a test and tune and trying for the best possible time, don't worry about when you're launching. Let the light turn green, take a second, breath, get the RPM's right, and then go. Obviously you'll start really racing later. But I find it best to ignore the light when first getting to know the car.

I have a 2015 Taurus SHO. With the off-the-shelf Performance Tune from Diablosport and a few minor modifications to exhaust, Race Gas additive, smaller diameter tires, and weight reductions, I've been able to get down to 12.49@114 in the 1/4 mile.

If you have questions feel free to ask.

Ok, I have to ask, what exhaust mods? What additive and how much additive per gallon? And how much weight did you take out? Also, what were the weather conditions for that run? 114 seem like a lot of mph for those mods. Your car runs good for the mods you listed.

Thanks for any feedback!!

Here is a couple pics of the Exhaust I designed and built. It bolts right up and hangs on the front two rubber hangers and the one mid car hanger. It takes me 45 minutes to completely drop the stock exhaust and install this one.
I start with 93 Octane and add 6oz/gallon of the Race Gas additive. I run my car out of gas on the way to the track, put a couple gallons of the good stuff in and make a few runs.
As far as weight reduction, I remove the powered Passenger seat, Rear seat and back, spare tire & jack. That's approximately 150 lbs. Then there is about 50 lbs. difference in the exhaust, so about 200 lbs.
I also swap out to a set of 245/40R18 tires. They are 2.96" smaller in diameter and improve the final drive ratio. I am well into 4th gear at the end of the 1/4 mile. With stock 245/45R20 tires it shifts into 4th just before the end of the 1/4 mile. The tires alone took .1 sec off.
Weather was clear at 62º, no humidity, and a direct 10 mph head wind.
Hope I've helped.
