wetsanding with 2000 grit is fairly safe, the only problem is on the body edges and the style lines on the car were the clear or paint is very thin, i usally try to stay away from the body lines with the wetsanding, then i hit it with the buffer to make it all look good, try to keep your hand moving with small strokes back and forth, dont stay in one spot to long otherwise it will go through the clear, that is tuff with the 2000 grit, you will get the hang of it, now if you were to go with 600 to 800 that is a different story

I think the red and black gen 1s were enamel. No clear.
Edit oh and white...basically, the solid colors. Not ones with metallic.
