Sounds like the kind of project we all wish we could do. Keep us updated so we can live vicariously through your build. Good luck.:salute:

Currently, it has a Quiafe trans from SS. I do have an HD gearset, still in the box. I will not be making a lot more TQ than before, maybe 150ft lbs at most. But with the car weighing a full 750lbs less, I have a feeling the stock gears will survive MUCH longer. Granted, I know they will eventually break, so to save the new synchros/rings/etc in the trans (complete rebuild by SS), I may just install the HD gears right away. But I am interested in knowing how much the stock set can handle once it is in such a light car.

I can Haz Nitrous in my lightweight SHO?

A SHO at such a light weight is so fun to drive with a Quaife installed. Between the Cams, Coilovers, Quaife and weight reduction my car feels nothing in any way, shape or Form like any SHO I've ever driven.

not that it is possible but just imagine if you could get your hands on the aluminum doors from those sables from years ago. That in it self would be 100lbs. I would imagine that you will be stripping all the reinforcements out of them anyway so it might not even make that much difference.

Performance Targets

1. WHP - 650
2. TQ - 500
3. Weight - 2700lbs wet
4. 1/4 - high 10's @ 130+mph
5. Standing Mile - 185mph
6. Top Speed - 200mph

you do realize that if you beat my 1/4 mile time I will have to gut my turbo ATX car completely and I MIGHT actually have to modify my engine from stock to keep up in the 1/4. :munch:

good luck. I expect to see some videos of build progress. :salute:

Tim, that looks like a fun project. I look forward to seeing the car on-track.

Note the pearlescent white paint, Cincy cowl hood, police grille and black B-pillars. I will be adding some black mirrors, a 'powerbulge' hood, some 91 lights, and maybe some 24v badges, making it an almost +!

your gonna get rid of the cowl?
