Venom 800TT,

Don't even worry about it. You do whatever you want with your car and don't get worked up over what someone else may think.
The original post in this thread was asking if 18 X 8 rims will fit on a Gen III, and you have shown that they will (SHO, SE....same relevant dimensions as far as I know).
Therefore you have helped the original poster and that is what matters.

This post is funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The 98 SHO is not Ebony Satin and what is a "BULL"? did anyone see this kids **** list? oh man this is way to funny.
bwaaaaaa hahahahahahahahah a 3L version of your 3.4L v8 bwaaaaaaaa hahahahahaha ... oh wait, its not funny, its a reality ...

better watch out, duratecs are seeing 245+ hp with simple porting, polishing, and throttle body upgrades.
You seem to have an obsession in proving this point of yours, Jason.

The question is, does it really matter? Aren't the both just Fords afterall, so I guess that would mean they are all related, ****, one could even say that the engine in their ZX2 is related to the mighty Cosworth V-10 found in Formula 1 cars, afterall, Cosworth did develop the original " Zetec " engine for Ford years ago.

I'm not trying to start an arguement, I'm just stating the fact that it matters little if the 3.0 duratec and the 3.4 SHO motor are related, I don't think many people think they wouldn't be. It's well known that Yamaha developed the SHO motor, whether the bottom end was a modified duratec block or not is not much to worry about. The one thing we all know, Yamaha did NOT develop the duratec, so there would be your difference.

If anyone argues this point, I'm sure what they are referring to is the SHO vs the regular Taurus. You could have 245 HP from a Duratec in your SE, SES, SEL or whatever, but those cars, without swapping VINs, certain body parts, and nomenclature will never be SHO's.

Another thing, on a different note, 245 HP is only 6 HP away from what the V8 SHO puts out stock. Correct me if I'm wrong, but won't and exhaust and and the K&N do away with that deficit?

From experience, the $143.86 I spent to do those mods to my car are far cheaper than having my heads ported, polished and buying a new throttle body.

Not to mention the creature comforts of the SHO and the suspension upgrades that you get along with it.

For the cost of the SLO plus all those upgrades...you could have a SHO.

Thanks for defusing me guys. As for the SLO instead of SHO, well that's easy to explain. It was my parents family car before I graduated, and my mom had just bught a loaded 28k Windstar and couldn't afoard a loaded 26k+ SHO, so we got the SE for 19k. ^_^

Well, I guess it could be worse . . . you could be driving the windstar instead of a comfy and stylish sedan wink

The point I'm trying to make here is BOTH cars are Tauruses!!!

I'm happy with that, I'm happy knowing I have the flagship ( was anyway ) of the Taurus line and that's OK> The other models are OK as well. I would not have bought one, but that doesn't mean they suck.

There doesn't need to be any comparison made between these two models, They are different, and that's that. One was meant to be pricier and more performance oriented then the other. The SHO is the higher one, live with it and enjoy each other's vehicles.
