Dead tranny on the 96

Hey All,

Well the tranny on the 96 finally died, luckily right in my driveway. So the question is do you guys know any good, trustworthy tranny shops near Oconomowoc? I know I can drag the car back to Milwaukee to a shop there but I'd like to stay closer to home if possible.

I have to say I am surprised by all the SHO's I see in the Oconomowoc area. Silver, Black Gen 3 - Green Gen 2 (used to work at Advance Auto), and a sweet Gen 1 at Culvers - haven't seen that for awhile.

Hey Miltown - does your Gen 3 have a silver SHO banner on the windshield? I see one around 68th and Wells in Tosa off and on... Very clean car.

The White Gen 1 was my old one. Now I have a green Gen 2. So by chance do you live on Oakwood???

Yeah and if you see a blue gen 2 thats me!! Im surprised if you havent seen me im all over the place

Nope, off Wood St and Summit by Brownberry. The car sits in front of the house until I get it fixed...

I can't say I have seen the Blue one yet. I may have. Of the Gen 2 it is my favorite...

Oh. I thought it was someone else. So I may swing by sometime soon and look at how hard it would be to change one. I havent done one on a gen 3 before but it doesnt hurt lookin.

I am looking for a tranny rebuild - Trans Go shift kit, brazed TC, Gen II cooler.... I know that Larry Eck had DJ's Transmission in Milwaukee do his this way and it was very affordable. That is prolly where I will head but I hate to haul it back into Milwaukee and into that neighborhood.....
