custom Y Pipe???

Has anyone ever had a custom made y pipe? We have a local tire and muffler shop here, and my dad's friend owns the place, and he says he could make me a "custom high flow catless Y pipe..............if the cost is cheaper than buying a y pipe from sho shop, I'm thinking about doing it. I'd like your imput..

If you can get it done nice, why not? A few people on this board have made them and reported them working well.

I have plans of building my own catted y-pipe.

I was hoping to pick up one from Midwest, but I need a 3" collector. And it would be a shame (and a waste of $) to butcher a Midwest Y-pipe.

2.25, dual cats, and a 3" collector. Pieced together using stainless mandrel bends. With cats though, the price is just about that of a new midwest pipe. But I want the 3" collector!
