With a Rwd setup, has anyone ever modified the intake and welded two throttle bodies on both sides of the intake? If so what do you have to do about not throwing off the ECU?
Thanks

it'd certainly take some custom tuning to account for the extra air, but i don't think it'd be too hard. maybe have a couple of brackets welded on so they can be bolted down instead of permanently mounted. if i was to do it, i'd only run one return spring.

I've only seen it done a couple of times and the people that have done it are not on here.

You would still need to have the intake come from one source for 1 MAF unless you start wanting to get tricky with 2 MAF's which will require a lot of setup. Also for the 2 throttle bodies you will have to close off the other end as well if you plan to mount them to the endtank end.

IMO megasquirt is the way to go.. i need to get it installed permently already but im back and forth with so many things lately.

i had the megasquirt up and running the car completely for fuel and ignition and it did excellent and not to mention was very easy once i got the issues worked out which was my fault...
i forgot to solder a jumper in when i built mine.

i often tossed the idea of something like this or even doing the secondaries and using the butterflies to do a ITB/ stock intake setup.
basicly take the secondaries and run ITBs right off the short runners.

i would imagine it would be good for probley 5 or more hp right off the bat if i were to guess

im not sure why it would need to be rwd?

Wasn't there a pic of a Merkur with a SHO motor and dual throttle bodies posted a while ago?

Well It doesn't have to be rwd, that is just the configuration I am planning on using. Ill look as well but if you guys find the pics that would be cool too. I wouldnt mind seeing this setup.

interesting actually..

the idea has been there several time but never seen it done..

i actually would have pictured using 3 tbs total because that way the flow would be even.

that really makes me think how well it would flow tho...

the runners are shaped different near the one end to try and even the flow out, possibly messing with the way the air flows in could have a negative effect.
starving the other opposite end the air flows in could result in a noticable power loss.
