Hey everyone,

Today's been weird. When I've been driving my SHO the air conditioning will quit, like it lost power. If I'm driving with the cruise control on the car will buck and then the air quits along with the cruise control. I can't use either one for a minute or so. But as soon as the cruise works again the air kicks on. Does anyone know the solution to this? Am I shorting out somewhere?

Thanks
Eric

Does either the AC or the cruise work properly when operated independently from each other? ie only one on at a time?

No, I can be driving and the air will start blowing moist warm air. That when I'm not using cruise. But if I try the cruise it won't work. Then wait a bit, the air will kick on and both will work if I try them.

There have been several threads in the last week on how to check the AC compressor clutch. It shouldn't take too long to find them if you use the SEARCH button.

Will the cruise work properly if the AC is left off?

I just replaced the AC clutch earlier this summer so that's not the culprit. To me, it seems as if power is being cut from the compressor and cruise, since they both happen together. I wish I was able to explain better, but I too am confused about the possible cause.
Thanks,
Eric

The ventilation dampers and the cruise control are both vacuum powered. Check the plastic vacuum manifold on the firewall above the brake booster and the lines to and from it. You will have to verify if it is the compressor not being engaged (electrical). Check out the compressor operation while the warm air is being emitted. If it is still spinning, the problem is not the power to it, but probably the vacuum supply to the dampers.

Thanks Scott,

I actually replaced my brake booster and then this problem started to happen. So I will check all my vaccum lines.

Again, thank you for the help.
