The SHO radiators have plastic end tanks and they are notorious for getting splits in them. They are cheap to buy and simple as pie to replace in the MTX cars. They also split out of the blue so it would really be hard for a previous owner to anticipate. I don't know who you bought it from so I can't vouch for him but it is highly unlikely that he knew there'd be problems.

That's the power steering cooler, and it's not radiator fluid, it's ATF.

Just keep your power steering filled up until you can trim the lines back and install new clamps. :thumb:

Oh, ok that does sound like the power steering cooler. Kind of like a Master lock shaped deal with fins that is attached to the subframe. Best way I know to describe it.

I highly doubt it is leaking coolant. More than likely the upper radiator hose is dripping down and it's running off that or your radiator has sprung a leak and is spraying over on it.

Just to clarify, the liquid coming off it is green? If it's orange it could be el-cheapo tranny fluid used in the power steering, if it's red it's likely tranny fluid in the power steering. If it's clear it could be power steering fluid....however most of the time the rack will turn the nice clear fluid black fairly quickly. :)

If you're not sure what kind of fluid it is dab a little on your finger and smell it. We all know the sweet smell of coolant.

Its definantly green...smells and taste like it too..I had suspecion it was running down the cooler lines..and then running off the cooler itself..might be somwhere else.

Ive been thinking, were you say its leaking i believe that that is a drain hole if the pressure is to great (anyone correct me if i am wrong).... i the hole where you screw in the drain plug, you will see it, it points down... id recommend trying the orignal cap

that also may be the reason why the heater core took a ****
