Does anyone know the part numbers for the two metal coolant lines that come off the engine about where the thermostat is, and run up to pipes in the firewall? One of the two has a threaded fitting for some sort of sensor. Do you know what the sensor is?
Thanks

I don't have the part numbers handy. At the Detroit convention one of mine sprung a leak in front of Ford World Headquarters during the "drive by". Left a big puddle of coolant.

Anyhow, the one with the threaded fitting, the fitting is for the lock-out sensor for the heater blower motor. When the engine is cold the blower runs at a slower speed until the engine begins to warm up.

A check with the dealer or Ford Parts Network should provide the part numbers. BTW, the sensor is no longer available (of course I need one).

You don't have to replace the metal tubes unless they are damaged or corroded. The hoses only can be replaced by slitting the crimped band with a hacksaw, peeling off, and replacing with a new hose and screw-type clamp. NAPA sells all of the coolant hoses for SHO's except for the one running from the front of the block up to the thermostat housing. I can get part numbers for all of these (including the Ford hose) if you tell me the year of your SHO and whether it is automatic or manual.

You can use generic bulk hose on all the places of the SHO. On the U shaped oil cooler hose use some hydraulic hose, it will not kink. If you need to replace the metal lines use copper sweat fittings as I think they are obsolete parts. If you make the copper pipe up then you can adjust for the hose size change. Otherwise you need a 5/8" to 1/2" reducer for the heater core hose.

The local napa told me it was a ford only part. The local ford dealer has yet to order the correct part for me, so I hate going through them. The actual metal fitting is rusty, and I've already done the hacksaw and re-hose trick. I still have a major leak. It's a 94mtx.
