The right front corner of the car was damaged in an accident... the front cross member(top) in the engince compartment is crinkled, the inner part of the support(front inner fender to fender) piece is crinkled and parts missing and the bumper support is pushed in. Also, the tire(top) on that side is about a inch away from bottom of spring/strut assembly whereas the other side is a normal 2-3 inches.

I dont know exactly how bad it was hit, I know it hit a deer, not going too fast. Seems to be alot of crinkled damage for just hitting a deer.

A NY state deer is not a majestic animal (usually), and I would look a little harder at pulling out the damaged area and fixing the old original car.
Get some opinions and see if it is possible. If both the rads survived and the glass isn't broke and all the doors still work OK, I would try to save it.
If you can post some pictures, that would help.

Sorry, didn't mean to make it an active link. No need for rude name calling though. However, I don't see the post that I was notified about in my email.

Yeah, b-cuz the SHO, for what it's worth, has many heavy duty components that a GL wouldn't. I have both a SHO and a GL, so I know about that.

What if the owner choose to completely revamp the suspension and brakes? You know, upgrading to Cobra brakes, Konis w/ lowering springs, adjustable end links, adjustable control arms, H-brace, Polyurethane bushings etc. So, what difference would these "heavy duty" components you speak of make?

those 2 pics of the tires/spring perches are so different that you'll have to bribe me before I agree they are from the same car. damage to the upper rail, where the fender attaches, often results in the top of the strut tower being wacked out of position. follow the top frame rail all the way back to the cowl/firewall, if it's crinkled there the rail was moved rearward, and the strut tower has moved. some basic engine bay dimensions need to be checked.,,,or is it already too late?

F Y I, the steel body shells are identical between SHOs and Slos of the same year.
