I was playing around with the sync stuff yesterday and connected my car to my home wifi as a client. It then gave me the option to do some online upgrades. What does that mean exactly? Can I download sync upgrades via the wifi or is that talking about something else? It said it could take several minutes and I was afraid of bricking my system not knowing what it was going to upgrade. It is a 2015 Taurus by the way.

What year car? I've got my 2016 w/Sync 3 connected to WiFi and it's still on version 1.0 and hasn't updated.

I've heard there's a 2.0 update that allows Google Auto to display on the NAV screen which I would love to try out, but my car won't update.

It's a 2015. I think I have Sync2.

Sync 2 doesn't auto update over WiFI - and a 2015 is definitely Sync 2. Unless they did something with the later Sync 2 updates. Give us a screen shot of it asking this.
