ok seriously wtf. why do our cars have stupid large strut bodies. what is the o.d. on these? because im not trying to order sleeves that wont fit (again).

Actually, you didn't start it as a tech thread. Technically, you started it as a complaint thread. A tech thread would have read, "Does anyone know what size strut body the Taurus uses? The sites I have visited have only had smaller coilover kits for smaller cars."
I think Ron's response was both informative and appropriate, given the tone of the question.

We have done tech talk and all you have done is be a total fvcking tool in response because it is not related to being "HELLAFLUSH". If you want some good technical info, stop being douche bag and play ball.
So here, I will start with information FOR YOU, That will HELP YOU get the desired look you want.
Go to SHOsource.com, buy Ground Control Coil-over sleeves. Yes, I know you didn't like the stance of the rear end of my car lowered all of the way but there is a solution. I run the 10'' Spring in the rear, that's why it sits higher then you like. Run a 8'' rear spring and you should be able to get it plenty low.
Many of us are willing to help, no matter what we think of what your doing to your car. HOWEVER, your attitude has everything to do with the responses or help you get around here.

You could be right. I've seen a lot of people say 8'' and a few say 7''. Regardless, it was causing issues in the rear for some folks, with wheel travel and ride quality. That's why many people went to the 10'' rear spring.

Because he probably has the 94-95 strut bodies which are marginally larger and require shaving for sleeves. see this thread...

That is is they still sold them.
We do make a kit that is very similar. So we can do what ever springs are needed.

speaking of i gotta ask did anyone ever figure a way to make the coil overs ride half way nice?
does the gen 3 subframe make it any smoother?

There's no reason why they can't ride the same as stock/Eibachs/Intrax. Spring rate is spring rate. They ride harsh because they have stiff springs with the kit.

Here's a novel idea: Find a set of calipers, and measure the strut for yourself. It's not rocket science. One would think that somebody experienced in "fitting" cars should be able to measure an outside diameter without turning to an online forum for help.

Try 1983 or 84. It takes a little time to go from "on paper" to "On the road".
If you modify the strut housing (very simple to do), you can put your spring perch a lot lower, and with an 8" spring you can drop your SHO extremely low. If you are intent on using the stock dampers, be careful when grinding off the stock spring perch, as you will not want to heat up the contents (so no torch!). I recommed some Koni's though, revalved for the correct spring rate. This way, not only will you achieve the drop you want, but your car will handle very well. FWIW, my coilovers have the Koni's revalved for 700F/600R springs, and the ride is superior to the IPT coilovers I had years ago (450R/350R spring, stock Koni's).
