while on my great search for the perfect track suspension for my 93 i have found bacislly nothing that fits my bill.
so far the best i could find was eibach ground controls on konis.
ive contacted JIC as well as Tein on making custom coilovers, and niether were up for the task.

i know there used to be coilovers out there for our cars, does anyone know anything about them? or what other companies should i try to get to make me custom ones?
thanks!

i dont dislike the ground controls but i was looking for soemthign better. ive never been a huge fan of sleeve style coilovers. u lose suspension travel when u start really getting slammed. i would liek to handle the best i can, that usually means im going to be very very low.(i would have to tune to find out, im not just gonna slam the car for the sake of slamming it) with the eibachs im going to have very little travel. i suppose i could cut and reweld the strut mouts higher to allow travel but i was trying to avoid that. if im gonna do that i might as well reweld the lower spring perch on the strut. So are there any altrnatives. i remember reading boaut some but they were like $1600. hey if theyre the best then ill get them. i know soemone on here has tohave them. thansk for the input so far.

There was the IPT coilovers and Gary Morrel made some as well. FWIW, I think the IPT set up was similiar to the ground control kit, but added an adjustable camber plate. I think most of the owners of the 9 sets of coilovers are members on this forum, perhaps they will chime in.

Buy them direct from Ground Control and save $200.

I thought midwest made modifications that the customer would have to do to make the kit work and thus making the $200 difference worth it?

13 sets of IPT coilovers were made. I own the 13th set which is currently sitting in boxes. If I ever install the setup, I am going to seriously re-engineer and modify much of it.

The IPT's had custom mounts with adjustable front camber plates. The quality of my kit was rather poor but as it was the last set and it took forever to get it shipped to me, I didn't have much to say. Based on how much I need to replace or re-engineer so that it's to my standards, I may create my own setup and just get rid of the IPT setup. It's a decent setup but quality control in machining and packaging just wasn't there.

I bought the Ground Control from Mid West, and instaslled it on my + with Koni adjustable inserts. Probibly the best setup for handleing. My friend also purchased the Ground Control kit direct. He saved $200 over me, and Mid West does NO modifications at all!!! Save your $$$, and buy them direct.

k-dawg, i think i worded it wrong, i was tryign to say that since im going for the best handleing i would figure that height would be lower than any given set of springs out there.

im currently pulling everything i dont need out fo the car, so much in fact that the car has rasied itself up quite a bit, even on my eibachs the car is noticably taller than stock. just have alot less weight to compress them.

I don't remember off hand what my spring weights are, but if you are lightening the car as mutch as possible, you will need slightly softer springs than a full weight SHO.

Hmm, thats odd. I could have sworn that Mike said on the forum somewhere that they have to do some modifying to them. Maybe im getting confused. :bonk:

Matt and I didn't see any differences between the 2 kits. Mine was for the Koni inserts, that are installed in stock bodied strut housings. Matt has KYB struts with the coil over's.
