OK. I'm losing my mind.
The wire I talked about in the previous post exiting the TB connector actually exits from the coil connector.
A splice was taken off the red wire (#16 per wiring diagram; power from (+) terminal of the battery) with a black wire.
The black wire from the splice was connected to something outside the harness. The wire is about 12 inches long.
I must have inadvertently pulled the termination end of this wire off of something when I moved the wires in the area because it is shredded at the end in 1/4" of bare wire.
I was re-installing my intake manifold. The car would start, rpm's would jump to 3500 and then drop to 0 when car would stall.
I could continually goose the throttle to keep it running but it would be impossible to drive this way.
Would reading codes in memory help?
This doesn't look like factory wiring so a mechanic must have done it at the dealership.
At the beginning when I first owned the car (and didn't know much) I always brought back to the dealership for service. But I have no idea why this splice was made.
I can't seem to think of any reason why you would take a splice off a battery (+) wire to connect somewhere else.
Can anyone give a guess on where the end of this black wire terminates?
Any guess would help.
