code 214 seems to be listed as cylinder identification(cid) sensor- ciruit failure

code 542 fuel pump (fp) circuit open connection- electronic control assembly(eca) to motor ground

214 would be crank position sensor?
and 542 could be bad ground at eca?

thanks in advance for any views and opinions on this,
Javier

214 is CID which is the camshaft position sensor, not crank. It's fairly cheap and easy to replace. I dont know about your 542 code though.

I just fixed almost all my codes with 1 repair! I had a 212,214,542 etc.. I pulled the crossover intake tube and removed the DIS.,then I filed and wire-brushed all the connections down to bare metal, cleaned behind the DIS, then made a new ground wire drilled a new hole and used a new screw. All my codes and starting problems went away(thank you projectsho89) Good luck.

thanks for the help I will look at the grounds and the cam position sensor see what happens, my car was momentarially cutting off during accelerating, just a blip and it would stay running, engine lite never came on I checked the codes and got the 2 codes, I will find out thanks again.

You could also try cleaning your MAF, as this has been known to cause acceleration issues. If you have a K&N fileter I would recommend cleaning it every few months anyway, as the oil from the filter seems to gradually build up on the MAF sensor wire.

thanks, I had a k&n filter before but I have changed it to an AMSOIL air filter, the k&n lets too much dirt pass by, my oil stays clean longer with my Amsoil filter, both filters require oil, I will check the mass air too, thanks again.
