Yesterday my clutch pedal started pulseing. The pulseing is not present when the clutch is out, however as the clutch is depressed it can be felt more and more. Overall the pulseing is not severe and no strange audiable sounds can be heard from the transmission. The transmission shifts normally. The only difference seems to be the clutch is engaging closer to the floor, but that may just be me.

Any ideas? First thing that came to mind was the TOB.

More likely the pressure plate fingers that have been damaged by the throwout bearing. You should be planning on a clutch job in the near future.

I am thinking about going with the Steel Billet Lite Weight Flywheel from ShoShop and the Fibertuff 9 Puck from Midwest SHO. Would this combination be suitable for daily driving with some spirited driving in there? Also what advantage does the ceramic TOB have over the stock TOB, and is it worth the extra money?

Thanks!

The ceramic bearing is absolutely worth the money. It will extend the life of your clutch by preventing wear on the pressure plate fingers. It also seems to last longer than the standard TOB, as far as its own internal reliability. Finally, it is packed with synthetic grease, which is another advantage over the standard bearing.

The Fibertuff 9-puck is an excellent disc, and well worth the money. I am installing one in my SHO because I liked the results so much when I put one in my girlfriend's SHO. It will feel quite firm in the beginning, but as it breaks in that feel lightens just a bit. It is still very grabby, and from what I have read, it ages very well (it doesn't wear too fast, so it should last quite a long time! :) )

It appears that the Midwest SHO kit also includes the reinforced pressure plate, which I think is nice as well. The set makes an excellent combo!
