Clutch cable...MT-5 same????

Anybody know if the clutch cables used in the
super slow 4cyl 5-speed Tauruses (86-88) are
the same as those in the SHO's???
Are the transmission cases the same???

If I had to guess, I would say the MT5 Taurus had the MTX3 tranny from the Tempo and not the SHO MTX4. So the cases would be slightly different but the clutch cable should be the same. The clutch cable in my Topaz hooked right up to the SHO MTX4 no problem. It may be worth a look to compare Tempo clutch cable part numbers to that of the SHO. You never know, they could be the same.
