i was just wondering if anyone could help me with this. my supercharged sho is running like crap. it feels like it has a huge mis fire and no power. it first started as when i would start it up in the morning, it would run like crap but then when it got to the a in normal on the temp guage, it would run normal but with sometimes if i left it in a gear and as if i was down shifting i could hear very small back fires every once in a while. now it stays like that all the time and if i leave it in gear in the same manner, i can hear the back fires pretty well. i know my car ran really rich before but i dont know if it clogged my cats or if its just that i need a tune up. i never felt it like this on any sho before. also i think i need a tps sensor and to clean my iac. would any of those cause that problem?

thanx again for all the help.

on the vehicle i've seen with clogged cats they would idle fine but would not rev beyond a few thousand rpms. have some one rev it up and feel the exaust tips if they are clogged ther shouldnt be much exaust coming out of them. there are testers you can buy to check for back pressure. pretty expensive though. if it was running rich mabey your plugs are fouled. when i bought my car some one had 2 plug wires switched and the car would back fire. on the dis system the plugs fire on the power and exaust stroke. it fired the unburn gas on the exaust stroke and melted my cats.
hope this helps.

My advise is to take it to someone that is really familiar with SHOs, and has worked on blown SHOs. You may cause lots of damage if you don't. Your problem(s) can be attributed to many things... Have you checked fuel pressure, changed fuel filter? How are the plugs, wires, oil in the wells? And this is just routine maintainance. Has the car been on a dyno recently with wideband capability to check the A/F? I am betting more tuning than anything needs to addressed. As for the cats, I would remove them with a catless y pipe.

i don't know if you have emmission testing in your area. but we don't so i fixed the cats my self cost 0 dollars. this is temporary for me until i get the money for the catless y pipe. just take your y pipe off cut the top open i cut a big square but only three sides left the other side attached. pryed it open removed the catalyst and welded shut.
